General Manager – Plastic Injection Molding (Chicago Area by O’Hare Airport)
I’m working with a well-established plastic injection molder that has built a strong reputation supplying high-volume molded components to major consumer markets across North America.
The company operates a 25-press injection molding facility running three shifts and manufactures millions of parts each year used in everyday consumer products.
This is a small, profitable business with a solid customer base, strong cash position, and ownership that is committed to investing in new equipment, modernizing operations, and positioning the company for long-term growth.
They’re looking for a hands-on General Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations and help take the business to its next level.
This person will be responsible for:
▪️ Leading all daily plant operations across three shifts
▪️ Driving safety, quality, productivity and on-time delivery
▪️ Coaching and developing production supervisors and plant personnel
▪️ Improving manufacturing efficiency and throughput
▪️ Helping implement equipment upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives
▪️ Working closely with ownership to support future growth
The ideal candidate will have:
▪️ Previous leadership experience in a plastic injection molding operation
▪️ Plant Manager, General Manager or Operations leadership experience
▪️ Strong understanding of injection molding processes and manufacturing operations
▪️ Experience leading production teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment
▪️ Working knowledge of production planning, scheduling and operational metrics
▪️ P&L exposure is helpful but not required
▪️ Spanish language skills are a plus, but not required
