Sometimes recruiting in plastics is an absolute disaster.
I’ve been working on a position in the plastics industry for four months.
We found a candidate, made an offer, and he turned it down.
So we kept interviewing.
Found another candidate. Made another offer.
He accepted!
Twelve days later, he backed out.
Four months.
Two offers.
Still no hire.
Frustrating?
That’s putting it mildly.
I’ve been recruiting for almost 30 years, and sometimes things still go completely sideways.
I can do everything possible to manage a search, but I can’t control every decision a candidate makes.
And I’m certainly not going to pretend every search goes smoothly.
But my client still needs someone, and I still have a job to do.
I can’t promise every search will go perfectly.
But I can promise I won’t disappear when things go wrong.
So, back to work.
